The caller warned him that he would be robbed that evening, but that the police had already been informed and would apprehend the thieves as they left. The caller said that the man should therefore not panic, but should simply give them the money, and wait for the police. Sure enough, that evening, a robber appeared, demanded the money in the cash register, and left. The man calmly gave it to him, waited for the police, and then, after several minutes, sheepishly called the police to report the theft.
