...a new two-chip mass-storage controller set recently announced by Sunol
Systems of Pleasanton, CA.  The DC1001 disk-controller chip [and] the RB1002
RAM buffer support chip are based on CMOS custom gate-array technology...
Because it is fabricated on CMOS technology, the chip set will consume far
less power than other commercial controllers.  Each chip consumes just 100
megawatts when operated from a 5-volt power supply...
