                              Abstract
                              --------

It has been observed that the mention of Oriental food causes marked
curvature of the nasio-labial muscles among the members of
*homo sapiens emitiana*.  The rate of secretion of gastric juices
increases markedly, allowing the organism to assimilate an unusually large
amount of fruits of the Capsicum family.  The influence of such
responses on the autonomous nervous system will be presented, followed by
an analysis of its impact on the New World economy.  The seminar will be
followed by a food-for-thought experiment in which audience participation
is mandatory.
